# Cburnett chess pieces

The 12 SVG files in this directory are the classical Cburnett chess-piece set
from Wikimedia Commons. They were downloaded on 2026-08-16 and are kept as
separate source assets. The diagram generator embeds their vector paths into
each self-contained chessboard SVG.

Author: Cburnett, with later Wikimedia Commons contributors.

Selected license: BSD 3-Clause. The Wikimedia file pages offer several
licenses and explicitly allow the reuser to select one. The project uses the
BSD option. See `LICENSE.txt` in this directory.

The files are used without visual modification. Removing redundant source
`id` attributes while embedding them is a serialization-only change and does
not alter the artwork.
